I have a very simple question, but I still can’t figure it out. On the page
it says, there should be an “Embed… button” in the Timelineview that allows you to embed the timeline on a website:
Press the Embed… button in the Timeline view. Tinderbox will copy HTML and Javascript code to your clipboard.
But I can’t find that “Embed… button” anywhere in the Timeline view (the toolbar is enabled).
Does this button exist and if, where?
Ah, that feature—the custom web timeline export—was not carried forward from v5 to the redesigned v6 app.
For historical purposes only. Using old aTbref baselines as a wayback machine, the v5 baseline shows the ‘embed’ button here: Timeline view. The timeline JavaScript library was discussed here: Web Timeline customisation.
Unfortunately, the timeline service that supported this was discontinued.
It’s fairly easy to export from Tinderbox to Aeon Timeline, or to widgets like Plotly or Mermaid that can support various timeline visualizations.
