Yes, it is good for that, but honestly, I write entire articles, reports, dissertations, and books in Tinderbox. They are fully cross-referenced, cited, and indexed. Don’t sell Tinderbox short as an end-to-end self publishing tool.
As mentioned in this thread it would be really helpful to see a small example of indexing to see how it works.

Ya, I know. I’ve not forgotten. I’ve been focused on finishing my doctoral dissertation for the last 8 weeks. Have dropped everything to get it done. End of the tunnel is near. I will get to this sometime in the next week or two.
