In this lesson, I explain the concept of inheritance within the context of Tinderbox. Inheritance is the process of information (i.e. in Tinderbox context a note’s attribute values) being passed from parent and child along a note’s ancestral chain. Inheritance in Tinderbox is an extremely powerful capability that helps with the management of your notes and the value of attributes, especially in big files. I explain what inheritance is in Tinderbox, how it works, how it is severed, and the four methods you can use to reestablish it.
