XX.tbx is on a volume that does not support permanent version storage

When I try to store a TBX-file on my NAS the following appears: is on a volume that does not support permanent version storage - Does that mean I cannot store tbx-files on my NAS?

Thank you Paul
I´m running macOS 10.15.6 too and try to save my tbx-docs on a Synology 220j running DSM 6.2.3-25426 Update 2. Everything works fine with other documents except tbx-files.
The message says “You will not be able to access older versions of this document once you close it.” - And that is true. You can open the revert-dialogue and see some frames. But you cannot open or revert to an older version.

I found this: Apple-support
It looks like that’s an apple-thing : “Network connections to volumes over AFP, SMB, or NFS don’t preserve previous versions of a document.”
As long as you don’t close the file you can save several versions which can be opened. When you close it the alert appears and only the latest version is accessible.
So I store my tbx-files in iCloud, OneDrive or Dropbox. That works.
