I am at the ACM Hypertext Conference in Chicago this week, with a busy schedule! So is Mark Anderson, also with a busy schedule. So replies here might be a little bit slower than usual.
Enjoy.
Tinderbox and innovation it brings into hypertext research is a regular theme on the ACM Hypertext conferences. This year, Mark Bernstein and Mark Anderson talked about spatial hypertext, AI, note taking and augmentation of human intellect on several occasions (workshops, discussion panels, presentations) from the historical, experiential and even philosophical perspective. Mark A. is also involved in a VR project for the Future of Text initiative, where he and Dene Grigar develop a user friendly VR interface for text annotation.
To make the activity of our moderators less abstract for Tinderbox forum users, let me share few of my photos from this year’s conference, plus a couple of links to open access publications from this year’s conference.
To both Marks, it was great to see and talk to you in Chicago! To all Tinderbox users, please consider sending a submission or just attending the next years’ ACM Hypertext 2026 in London (at the British Library).
Some of the talks with available links to ACM Digital Library:
Mark Anderson, W(h)ither Spatial Hypertext?
Mark Bernstein, Silas Hooper and Mark W. R. Anderson. Back To The Information City
Mark Bernstein, What is it like to be augmented?
Mark Bernstein, Information Interfaces in the Antique World
Many thanks for that summary. I should add that, for all those asking “For what is the Info City view?”, @Xanadu turned up at the conference with an impressive looking Info City in Tinderbox 11.
