They’re not.
The tutorials were big, intended for distribution on CD. That makes them awkward to host.
More significantly, the tutorials were written for old versions of Tinderbox, and their concerns are not our current concerns. The action language used to be far less capable, and so we spent a lot of time thinking about how to live with its shortcomings.
Perhaps we should do a new series!
Definitely, a new series would be great. Thanks Mark.
What topics caught your eye?
I think most of the topics already covered in the first installment still hold relevance. The first volume has valuable information on basic topics like note creation, containers, prototypes, agents, actions and attributes. A couple of good examples I think would be making a daily planner like in Tinderbox Chronicles, part 6a – day book followup – Welcome to Sherwood and Information gathering, maybe the processing of a book in philosophy, or generating index cards from books ala Tinderbox.
Definitely cover action code and how to modify how the text looks in the preview pane. While I know there are a lot of resources that the community has been trying to put together, I think a material like this would be great, maybe even distributed via Vimeo. If you are familiar with Panorama (database), the dev has something similar for his software and people are happy to support the dev getting those courses.
Thanks.
