IMPORTANT: note the new domain, atbref.com. Although old aTbRef content has been ported to the new domain, aTbRef 11 is only on the new domain. So, update your bookmarks.
v11 change log. [Edit: Updated change log URL per post below]
This may seem like a smaller update (in feature count terms) than in the past but overlooks the point that a large amount of unseen work has gone into enabling AI integration. It is currently only with Claude Desktop only. However, the MCP method used indicates that in due course other AIs/LLMs should be possible. AI is a fast moving space where users magical thinking sometimes outthinks the pace of reality.
Scope/Expectation Management re AI & aTbRef. aTbRef has no intention to take on the full scope of explanation of use of AI. Rather, it will deliberately restrict itself to the ‘how’ its integration into Tinderbox, o requests for more AI articles in aTbref should expect a ‘No’ and not be surprised. But, don’t worry, there are evidently forum members actively working in this and there’s nothing to stop anyone writing a TB+AI resource.
Updated change log to reflect v11.0.0.b733 release was a day after the Backstage release, i.e. 12 Sep not 11 Sep. Affected linking pages/Zips updated too.
Thanks to @DaveM for reporting a stray acrobatfaq.com reference in aTbRef11 (that and a few others now found and fixed - online only for now).
It reminds me of a point that is worth repeating, the aTbRef11 baseline atbref11 is only available on the new atbref.com domain. By comparison the ten older baselines , tbx through atbref10 are on both old and new domains—for now. It only took 20+ years but aTbRef now has it’s own domain.
acrobatfaq was originally home to a FAQ from the late 90s for making cross-platform CD-ROMs, perhaps np longer a pressing problem. It was fun as Adobe engineers actually wrote asking how it managed this. I pointed out it said on the side of the box that it was possible, to be given the slightly shamefaced reply of “but that’s just marketing copy”.
Before someone reports it, yes, atbref10 does not yet have the redirect banners I use on all old pages. It will have to wait a week until I’m back from Hypertext 2025.
