Atomic Note-Taking

Dear Tinderboxers,

greetings from the Zettelkasten world. I wrote a comprehensive guide to Atomic Note-Taking. The atomicity thing is one of the core building blocks of the Zettelkasten Method. However, in this guide I argue that atomic note-taking is basically an expression of critical thinking (as well as systems thinking).

I hope you can make good use of it.

Live long and prosper

What app/program do you use for your digital ZK? I followed your link here and went down your rabbit hole last night… very informative. Thank you. But today I am wondering what you use… as you’re here in TB maybe that’s what you use, but I thought I’d check.

I read this Guide in one piece during my break and found it very exciting. I recognize the same patterns as my brain is already working. I think that I analyze and sort in a very structured way. My brain is probably made of 1.5 kg of bits and bytes. :blush:

Unless something has changed in the past few years it would be The Archive: The Archive (macOS) – Note Taking: Nimble, Calm, Plain.txt • Zettelkasten Method

@satikusala If you like to do a meet-up revolving around using atomic note-taking as a glue that ties together thinking and note-taking together, I’d be on board. :slight_smile:

@andreas Yes, still The Archive.

That would be fantastic! Would Sunday, November 2nd, or Saturday, November 8, work for you?

It depends on the time. :slight_smile: Both days work for me.

I live in Bielefeld, Germany. So, in UTC+1. Which time do you have in mind?
