This seems to be a bug in Tinderbox 7.3. In previous version (7.2) everything was fine. Paradoxically, $Name is displayed correctly in outline view after changing font to a small one (9-14) in map font size (not outline) in the Inspector.
Yes – it’s a problem in 7.3. When both the map and the outline size for a note are greater than the default, the displayed outline size it too large.
It’s fixed in the current backstage release, and will be fixed in 7.3.1 . If anyone needs access to the backstage release, email bernstein@eastgate.com . Or, reset the outline font size for now.
