Is there a way/setting to change the default view of the Attribute browser when it initially opens? Mine is set to scope the entire document and sets the Textual attibute to sort.
I would like to customize the setting.

No, but you can safely leave a customised tab open in the background without any ‘work’ going on and affecting the document.
v9, out soon, should make saved customisation easier, but we’ll have to wait—not long now—for the new version for the detail on that. (Backstage programme members can discuss beta/unreleased versions on that private forum).
