Linking specific text in Note 1 to specific text in Note 2, not just to entire Note 2

Is it possible to link a block of text in one note to a specific block of text (NOT the entire note) in another? i looked at linkage posts but did not find it. my apologies if i missed it.
i am translating a latin text and wish to link a line in a poem (in Note A) to a block of text in a note (Note B) containing my commentary on that text. i guess footnotes might work but i prefer a solution with links.
thanks

So let me ask again: Is it possible and if so: how does one do it?

Sure.

Select the desired span in note 2.

Select block 1. select the source anchor. Drag a text link from the text pane (right-hand) parking space to the global (left-hand) parking space.

Select the destination note. Drag the link from the parking space to the selected text, and release the mouse.

Yes, and it has already been answered. What about the answers is not working for you? Did you read this? If instructions are unclear it is useful to know why.

very helpful, indeed – especially after a second deep dive into your link and the hint within:

“The highlights are automatically removed after 3 seconds”

Thank you @mwra and thank you @eastgate
