Using a Mac mini M5 Pro TB V11.8.0. I used to created List levels via the Ruler Bar Lists button when I set the Lists style and then set the next successive levels by using the tab key. Nothing happened when the Tab key was pressed. Just checked doing the asme on my old iMac running V11.5.3 and it ran OK. What did I miss?
It still works for me, with exactly the same device and TBX version, as long as I’m at the beginning of the line, or immediately after the bullet (before the item text begins).
That’s with an Apple UK keyboard with the UK standard layout.
I am using a Keychron V2 UK and Mac Keyboard and it had worked previously. Then it stopped. Made no changes to TB after a clean reinstall (because I had previous problems with Links not being visible). Blamed it on my old device and OS version. Happy with things for a couple of weeks. Unpaired my (old) Apple Keyboard with my iMac and paired it with the MM. Still doesn’t work. Pressing the Tab key produces zero reaction.
FWIW, this is a macOS functionality; it’s not Tinderbox code.
Just experimented making a list from Menu > Format > Text > List. That worked for all sub-levels and back too (shift Tab). Just unable to perform using the Lists button on the Ruler bar. Just inconvenient not being able to use the Lists button. macOS functionality is way above my head technically.
Finally realised that I had “Full Keyboard Access” turned on and not aware of the conflict it brought about. Back to normal with it turned off.
