Meetup SATURDAY Sept 13

Bring your projects and puzzlements! Everyone is welcome. Long-time Tinderbox users, new Tinderbox users, and non-Tinderbox users are very welcome to join in on the discussion.

Tinderbox Trainers Wanted

We are inviting Tinderbox community members to deliver a “Tinderbox in 10-minute Training” session. We want to kick off each weekly Tinderbox meetup with a 10-minute training that explores a Tinderbox feature and explains how to use it in a specific context. Again, the training should explain what the feature does and provide a contextual example of how the training is using it (sample files are most welcome). If you’d like to provide one of these trainings, please DM @satikusala or @eastgate on the Tinderbox Forum, and we’ll schedule your session on the Tinderbox Meetup Calendar.

Michael, I built an integration between Tinderbox and OmniFocus. I’d be happy to showcase my work during a 10-minute segment at an upcoming Saturday meetup if anyone is interested.

Let’s do it! Could you do Sunday the 21st? I’ll be out the following Sunday.

To replicate what Jacob showed during the meetup, do we need to install additional items? Like the Github tinderbox-mcp? Any others?

I get the error that Claude can not connect with Tinderbox (v11)

@iPanini, I get this error too when starting up Claude. However, despite the error, the integration still works if I let Claude open Tinderbox.

Have you tried closing Claude and Tinderbox and then only opening Claude Desktop?

@satikusala, I’m only good for Saturday meetups, so maybe the 27th?

Hi Jacob, thanks for chiming in!
Could you confirm if there’s any need to separately install github tinderbox-mcp server?

No, you do not need the GitHub MCP stuff if you only want Claude Desktop to work with Tinderbox. If you want Claude to also interact with your Git repos, however, sure, install it, too :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks a ton!
I just dit as you proposed, closed TBX and Claude and then restarted from scratch, and it works.

At present, Claude Desktop tries to open two or three copies of Tinderbox. Why it thinks this is a good idea is an open question.

Tinderbox closes the extra copies. This triggers the error message; simply close the message and pay no attention.
