No + for badge in tag shape?

I noticed something strange. If I create a note in the prototype folder I can associate a badge with it by clicking on the + in the right corner, as documented.

However if I create a note, change the shape to Tag, then there is no ‘+’ sign. Do I need to do something to make the + appear for this shape?

(The inspector shows all the badge options so my issue is with the UI in map view for this shape)

I’m working through Michael B excellent tutorials and noticed this. It seemed to have a + in his video for this shape.

thanks, Frederick

ok I see the + if the arrow points to the left, but not if it points to the right. If I point the arrow to the left and associate the badge, it shows. If I then shift the arrow to point to the right, the badge no longer shows but remains in the appearance inspector. I think this is a map view display bug with this shape.

same issue with oval, lozenge etc… I think there is a masking issue if an area of the shape is white.

Yes the shape is clipping the badge. The note exists within the rectangular bounding box. So if you use a shape that mask out much of the rectangle, it sees logical the badge might get cropped. Expecting to see it would start from a different design: possible but I suspect not the one sued here.

It would be useful if you could email tinderbox@eastgate.com summarising this. MarkB is travelling at present but it would be useful to have summary when he gets back. An email is more helpful than tracking the issues across a thread here.

I sent MarkB an email. Thanks.

I’m on it: might take a couple of weeks. Side-effect of improvements to shape handling in maps.

I sensed as much. I used my aTbRef ‘wayback machine’ but one thing I’d not screenshotted in the past was a shaped note … with a badge.
