@eastgate and myself have been at the ACM Hypertext Conference 2026* (HT’26) in the last week and gave a few papers that @satikusala suggested might be of interest to this community.
So a disclaimer is necessary:
@mwra and/or @eastgate may be authors in some of these papers but these are explicitly not posted for self-promotion but at the request of as community member as of potential interest to other Tinderbox users.
The following papers, published at ACM HT’26 as ‘Open Access’ so may be read at (or downloaded from) the ACM Digital Library (DL.ACM) without a need for login or payment.
The papers we discussed are:
- A Reader’s Workbench: Reading With Friends, Mark Bernstein
- The Future Is Not What It Used To Be: Hypertext, Note-Taking, And Tools for Thought, Mark Anderson
- Permanently Under Construction: Hypertextual Friction in an AI-Augmented Zettelkasten, Dave Millard
- Although based around use of Obsidian, this paper may be of interest to those using MCP with Tinderbox
- @eastgate also gave an interesting paper at the Conference’s HUMAN’26 workshop discussing some work he did with @andreas exploring recreation of Tinderbox views in a (Node.js) website. [That paper is not yet in DL.ACM but should be there, also as Open Access, before long.]
