Suggestion: Please open up Tinderbox to control via CLI

Hi all,

Tools like Obsidian have got a fresh lease of life because of the power of ClaudeCode-like tools that can “live within them” and perform a bunch of book-keeping, organizing, discovery, synthesis.

This could be a powerful “missing piece” for Tinderbox – essentially automating its usage and making it so much more usable out of the box.

Having a “Tinderbox MCP” that allows for structured retrieval and editing would be a big step in that direction.

Hope this is considered,
Agam

FWIW, Tinderbox has pretty good AppleScript support, so there is an MCP server available that uses these “hooks.”

FYI…the backstage release just introduced a Claude MCP module…it may take a while to make its way to the public release (you can always join the backstage program and get it now) .

Yes; this is actively under development backstage.

That’s interesting to hear. Is this a full official MCP server or more of an MCP-friendly interface that other servers can interact with?

Yes, it ought to be. So far, it’s only tested with Claude Desktop.

This is great to hear. I think it will be a real power-up for Tinderbox. Good job staying ahead of the curve here
