In this Tinderbox Meetup, @webline (Detlef Beyer) discussed an OpenAI Assistant framework from within TBX that he has been working on. He has developed a robust Tinderbox integration to OpenAI’s new open assistant API. He also explained how to set up and install a local LLM with LM Studio and AnythingLM.
In addition, we discussed,
- How Bruce Gale could quickly incorporate hundreds of images into his book project. Becker (@satikusala) demonstrated a macOS commandline (
find /path/to/image -type f \( -iname "*.jpg" -o -iname "*.jpeg" -o -iname "*.png" -o -iname "*.gif" \) | pbcopy
) that could be used to pull the pathways for image in a directory. He demonstrated how an image pathway could be used to insert an image into a section of a book. To automate this, a bit more action code is needed. - the benefits of discrete functions, following Detlef’s lead and a comment made by Mark Bernstein, Becker also demonstrated the advantage of using smaller, discrete functions.
- strategies for comparing Tinderbox files, a discussion initiated by Peter Wasilko
