Underlining and style

Hello,
I have the following scenario.

  1. I start a note and type some text
  2. I underline some text
  3. Type more (non-underlined) text.

A) The underlined text changes color - not great but I can deal with it
B) I have not been able to get the default color back on the following text.

Any obvious mistake?

I’m not seeing this:

Any chance you are using dark mode? Perhaps he has something to do with that.

Hi,
I applied a theme at some point.
I am enclosing the TBX - should have done that first - sorry.

The problem is that, in using the Styles menu to underling, you’re bypassing Tinderbox’s rather complex logic for managing light and dark appearances. The following is the more idiomatic way to do what you want.

  1. Type “Some text [Return]”
  2. Choose Format ▸ Font ▸ Underline or press ⌘-U.
  3. Type “Some underlined text”.

Hi,
My problem comes after: How do I get back to “White” non underlined text?

Philippe

The menus/shortcuts for bold/italic/underline/etc. are a toggle. Use to turn on, use again to turn off. If working in a selection where the style is question is only partly present you might need to use the command twice.

Hi,
The toggle works for the underline function but the resulting text stays “dark”.

Try selecting the ‘bad’ text and use menu FormatStyleStandard Font or shortcut ⌘+⌥+⌃+T.
