UTF8 excitement on the way to Gondishapur to say thank you

I have had occasion to follow some references which got me to:

Often times - when I am on the hunt, I ‘grab and dump’ without much care to start. After some mussing about I propose the following test case:

Place the following three lines into the text area of a note:

Pahlavi script: 𐭯𐭠𐭫𐭮𐭩𐭪

Avestan script: 𐬞𐬀𐬭𐬯𐬍𐬐

Manichaean script: 𐫛𐫀𐫡𐫘𐫏𐫐

Explode the note and descend accordingly to find three notes with this content as the values for three entries with $Name. I’m using the default explode as I find it on my Version 9.7.3 (b673).

Take a text value from any of the notes and paste it in map or outline view as a new note and things crash.

** this is not blocking me in any way! I remain confident that this will be your only bug report that involves ‘Avestan’ and ‘Manichean’ script. Thanks as always for an awesome piece of software.

I hate to say this, but it works for me! (Oh wait: got it now! I think we’ll be able to get this fixed pretty quickly.)

xManichean.tbx (183.8 KB)

On my local with your file - I copy one of each from ‘notes’ and ‘exploded’ without issue. Speedy indeed. :+1:

OK: It turns out to be pretty easy to fix. It’ll be fixed, in fact, in the next backstage release.
