Workflow for citing and generating bibliography with tbx

When I am writing academic work in a thx note, I would like to add citation keys and then output the text with formatted citations and bibliography and at the end the document. I have bookends and Zotero.

I would be interested to a simple workflow to achieve this.

Would it be easier to achieve this with Bookends or Zotero

I think this is roughly equivalent in either.

What I do today is paste the citation markers into Tinderbox test from Bookends. When I’m ready to format the finished piece, I either copy or export it (to Word, Pages, or Overleaf), and then use Bookends to scan the citations and format the References.

@eastgate Thia is very helpful! Thank you!

Do you use Pandoc? This is easily done by adding Pandoc into your workflow. We have several videos on this, you’ll also find a library for it in my 5Cs school (happy to provide you references). To make this work, however, how you construct your templates is VERY important. Note, I’ve also creating stamps that will enable you to pull out out all your anchors, which then let’s you run some stats on how many times and where in your document you’ve used a citation, which is GREAT for long-form research.

@satikusala Thank you for the informtion about the use of Pandoc and and the link to the template! The stamp you are developing sounds cool.
