I have been using an approach that relies on Tbx and Alfred. I have a Tbx file with all my references. I then use it to export them in BibTeX, for using it with Pandoc and LuaLaTeX, and in JSON, for using it with Alfred. I adapted my file to a template and committed it to this repository below. I am also sharing the Alfred workflow that I use to cite the sources, access the note/reference quickly, and even open the file associated directly.
