In this Tinderbox Meetup, we went over two concepts in detail:
- Editorial Workflow, i.e., we reviewed strategies to manage the various states (e.g…, draft, in-review, final) of the authoring process. We discussed different strategies, including,
- manual workflow
- use of checkboxes, flags, colors, and display expression to visually signal status
- use of action code to automagically adjust visual signals
- use of action code to create drafts of notes
- Template and Action Code Library Migration, Michael Becker (@satikusala), as part of the process of supporting the students in his 5Cs School, kicked off a series of discussions with @mwra on different approaches on how we can facilitate the copying and pasting of template and action code libraries across Tinderbox files and have the self-contained files trigger action code to generate the necessary attributes that the templates and libraries need to work. @mwra developed a dictionary strategy, and @satikusala demonstrated a self-contained functions library approach (inspired by his discussions with @mwra).
